About Me:
I had my knee surgically re-built in early 2001, and was going thru re-hab during the entire NHL Playoffs that year. I spent many, many hours on the floor of my apartment massaging my knee and trying to bend and straighten it as much as possible, all while watching the stretch run and the playoffs. Of course the Avs went all the way that year, and I'm convinced that I can walk today because I had so much time to kill that year and I spent it doing physical therapy! When it was time to start really testing out the new knee, I decided the ice was the place for me - it just seemed to make sense.
I started by taking some group hockey lessons at the APEX Center, until someone mentioned the DWHL to me (Denver Womens Hockey League - www.dwhl.org). I joined a league there and I haven't stopped playing since. I also played competitively for 2 years at the B2 level in WACH (Women's Association of Colorado Hockey - www.wachockey.com) but this year I decided that competitive hockey was not for me. I now play on 2 co-ed teams - both Cobras - and 1 women's team, so I play about 4-5 nights a week. It's an addiction, what can I say?
