Code of Conduct

The Purple Cobras Hockey Club takes pride in adhering to the rules of the governing leagues in which we play and in playing hockey with a spirit of teamwork, fair play and good sportsmanship. According to the Edge Adult Hockey League, the following rules apply:

FINES AND SUSPENSIONS: All players that receive game misconducts will be
suspended and fined. All fines must be paid prior to the suspended players ‘Eligible to
return date’. If applicable, any un-served game misconducts and or un-paid fines will be
carried over to the following season. Captain will be notified by EAHL league officials of
any suspensions that may pertain to their team throughout the season.
ALL SUSPENSIONS ARE FINAL. NO APPEALS. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.
• FIGHTING:
1st Offense: $50 fine and 2 game suspension.
2nd Offense: Expulsion from the EAHL for the remainder of that season.
• VERBAL ABUSE OF OFFICIAL:
1st Offense: $50 fine and one game suspension.
2nd Offense: Expulsion from the EAHL for the remainder of that season.
• INELIGIBLE PLAYERS:
1st Offense: $50 fine and one game suspension of the team captain and
forfeiture of the game (includes non-rostered players, unpaid
registrations and non-USA Hockey registered players).
2nd Offense: $100 fine, a two game suspension of the team captain and
forfeiture of the game.
• INTENT TO INJURE (Match Penalty):
1st Offense: $100 fine and minimum four game suspension,
pending the severity of incident.
2nd Offense: Expulsion from the EAHL for the remainder of that season.
• STICK FOULS AND OTHER MISCONDUCTS:
1st Offense: $ 50 fine and one game suspension.
2nd Offense: Expulsion from the EAHL for the remainder of that season.

ADDITIONALLY:
Fighting or dirty play (i.e. intent to injure) is not tolerated on the Purple Cobras in any form, either with players on their own team or on others. First offense and you'll be suspended from the team for four games. Second offense and you'll be asked to leave the team for good.

Infighting (e.g. verbal abuse of team mates) isn't tolerated either. It will be handled at captain's discretion, though if it is a recurring problem, you will be asked to leave the team.

Remember, your behavior reflects on your team, and if someone acts in a detrimental way on the team, it becomes assumed by other teams that our whole team behaves that way. Its just a game afterall.
